Art Deco Danish silver plate Freya cutlery setting c1930 6 people. This beautiful setting is in very good condition. This is a beautiful pattern, called Freya, with a hammered pattern to the handles and a trefoil design to the handles.
Cutlery is rated highly in Denmark and often given as birthday presents so children can accumulate a set by the time they leave home. These pieces date from 1890 through to 1930 and are marked for ABSA Silver for the Copenhagen Silver company Amager. There are 6 stainless steel bladed hollow handled knives, 6 stainless steel bladed hollow handled entree knives, 6 dinner forks, 6 entree forks, 6 table spoons, 6 Continental soup spoons, 6 dessert spoons and 6 teaspoons. There 3 different pretty serving pieces making a total of 51 pieces in total.
To find both dinner knives and entree knives in this design is a rarity. The silver plate to these pieces is in very good condition with minor scratches from use. There is no corrosion spots to the plating. The teaspoons have small spots of wear through to the backs of the bowls as shown.
The knife handles are all secure and well seated. There are a few very small marks and scuffs from gentle usage. It is a beautiful and elegant set and will enhance any table setting for years to come.
