Art Deco Danish Cohr Silver Plate Hammered Cutlery Set Kings Bridge for 6 people

Art Deco Silver plate cutlery set Cohr Silver Denmark Kings Bridge. This lovely setting was produced by Danish Silversmiths Carl M Cohr and dates to the 1930's. ATLA was the brand name that Cohr used for their silver plate wares after 1926.

The design is called Kongebro or in English King's Bridge or Lord. It features a hammered patterning with traditional horizontal Scandinavian banding to the handles.

The accompanying knives have wide blades and have solid cow bone handles. There are 6 dinner knives, 6 dinner forks, 6 entree forks, 6 dessert spoons, 6 soup spoons and 6 teaspoons. The knives are quite lovely in their own right and although rustic have great appeal. The blades are all marked Raadvad Rustfri indicating they are Danish stainless steel. The blade secures to the handle with a steel rod which extends through the entire length of the bone and is finished flush at the end.

There are silver plated ferrules at the neck of the blades. One of these has some silver plate loss showing the brass beneath. There are some fine fissures at the necks as shown but with good care these knives should last many years. They will need to be washed by hand not in a dishwasher. The set has been used and shows light scuff marks and scratches.

One entree fork has some silver plate loss to the edge of the handle as shown. There is no other silver plate loss or wear through and the set presents beautifully. The forks have initials to the backs of the handles as shown. The knives are 240mm long, the dinner forks 200mm, the entree forks 175mm, the dessert spoons, 175mm, the Continental soup spoons 200mm and the teaspoons 124mm long.

The pieces will come wrapped in acid free tissue paper in bubble wrap and packed in a box with void fill. For Imperial measurement users a handy guide is 25mm or 2.5cm is a little less than 1 inch, so 100mm or 10cm is just less than 4 inches.
