Vintage Danish Krone Silver Plate Cutlery set for 12. Beautiful set is in very good condition. There are 12 smooth bladed hollow handled dinner knives, 12 dinner forks, 12 large Continental soup spoons, 12 dessert spoons, 12 teaspoons, cake server, large serving spoon, jam spoon, a gravy or sauce ladle, 2 smaller serving spoons, a server with a slotted stainless steel serving section, 3 small meat forks and a crown bottle opener.
This makes a total of 71 pieces. The pieces are in the design called Krone which features a flared handle with a prettily reeded design ending in a stylised crown to the finial. The silver plated pieces are marked to the backs with CFC for the silver workshop of Carl F Christensen which closed in 1963. This set predates this time. The original leaflet came with this set and will be posted with the cutlery.The silver plating to the pieces is bright, reflective and shiny. There is no flaking, corrosion, pitting to the silver plating. There is a small amount of wear through to the plating on one teraspoon and the bottle opener as shown.
We find the plating on Danish cutlery far superior to most English and Australian sets of a similar era. This is a beautiful and stylish setting made to last for many years to come.
