Up for offer is this superb and very rare 1910 Edwardian silver plated desk / table lamp with a large original ornate silver plated Corinthian fluted column with distinctive acanthus leaves and scrolls, standing on a solid multi-step base with a heavy stabilizer plate, and carrying an original Victorian hand blown prismatic cut glass shade. Great opportunity to acquire something rare; this stunning piece of iconic period lighting speaks volumes of design integrity and superb manufacturing quality, features we rarely see nowadays in the age of Chinese 60 ft containers; it is absolutely charming equally on and off. Original period marked chromium plated stepped gallery with original security knurled thumb screws. Original period marked chromium plated E22 bayonet cap bulb holder.
Original pre - Edwardian handmade prismatic heavy cut glass shade with a stylized reticulated floral rim. In perfect working order, the lamp was fully re - wired in the late 1950s with heavy two core and an earth cable. Original 5 A inline brown Bakelite push switch. Original Crabtree three round pin Bakelite functioning plug.
Heavy steel stabilizer base plate. These vintage plugs make for unique ornamental display and act as conversation starters and talking points. Dimensioned as per annotated images, the overall height of the Lamp is 44cm.
