Antique Mahogany & Silver Plated Tantalus with Three Crystal Decanters Lock Key. This wonderful oak three bottle / decanter tantalus set is very nicely finished, with silver plated mounts. The case is made from mahogany, which is a wonderful rich colour and has lovely silver plated mounts. The mounts are superb shaped. The tantalus has a lovely carrying handle which sets the tantalus off beautifully. The mount on the end of the case states'MADE IN ENGLAND'. In addition it is complete with its' key. To access the bottles, firstly the key is used to unlock the lock, the key is then removed - this allows the button in which the lock is located to be pushed downwards whilst holding the handle. Once released, the handle can be lowered backwards and the bottles are then free to be accessed. The bottles are all lead crystal cut glass and have faceted stoppers. There is a nice feature of a small piece of lead within the glass. The approximate maximum dimensions are. 15.5 / 39cm long.

5.75 / 14.5cm deep. The tantalus is circa 1930. The case is in lovely condition with just some minor knocks / marks commensurate with age. The bottles are also in good usable condition, with just some minor misting to the glass, which is faint and hardly noticeable, especially when the decanters are filled.

There is some patina to the silver plating on mounts as would be expected.
