C1900s GERMAN WMF ART NOUVEAU SILVER PLATED HUNTING WILD BOAR PAIR 2 STIRRUP CUP. ART NOUVEAU SILVER PLATED HUNTING WILD-BOAR PAIR of 2 STIRRUP CUPS. Silver plated cast pewter Stirrup cups are hand hammered decorated in a high detailed art nouveau scrolling tendrils pattern with sided Wild Boar's head, supported by round base. These small portable cups were carried by the hunters to have a drink before they began riding their horses and go for hunting.

"Ostrich mark" consists of the image of a running ostrich put inside the rhombus with a two-line inscription. (G is for Geislingen), which is in turn placed in a dashed rectangle. Note the simplified shape of the letter "F" The additional marks. One letter inscription means the use of Britannia metal a zinc-antimony-copper alloy which served as a base metal for silver plating.

Means normal silver coating which is equivalent to 1 gram of silver per 1 dm2 of base metal surface. One-letter inscription meaning, is yet unclear. Number inscription shows probably the model number. This WMF mark was in use from around 1900 until about 1918. Both Cups are Not Monogrammed.
