Up on offer here is this fine early Victorian C-1890 Silver plated copper classic desk lamp with an early handmade moulded tinted glass shade over a harp carrier and an early "bronze" bulb holder. Very tactile to the touch.. Rare & unique piece of Victorian lighting with charming classic feel.

Heavy circular base, lead weighted, and elaborately decorated with Repoussé machine chased deep relief foliage patterns. Two-staged column with matching machine chased Repoussé deep relief foliage patterns, and an upper tubular stage with an upper capital and a circular abacus. Vintage Brass twin-arm harp carrier with upper support brass base gallery, a very decorative bronze top canopy (with central rose), and an ornamental upper finial. Original bronze / brass bayonet fit earthed bulb holder. Original (very rare) art nouveau hand-moulded tinted glass shade with deep relief patterns.

Original 1930s white Bakelite Torpedo inline on/off switch. Original 1930s MK three- round pin Bakelite plug with early cord grip.

Fully wired in period two-core silk braided cable, earthed, tested, and in perfect working order. For dimensions, please see images. Any questions, please dont hesitate. Bakelite plug will remain in place as considered very much part of the original lamps character. Modern wall socket adapters are widely available to accommodate round pin plugs.

In beautiful period condition with stunning natural aging patina and no known faults; considerable level of rubbing to the silver plating by virtue of the lamp's 120+ years of service, (please see images).
