TUFTS Arctic Soda Water engraved silver plated soda fountain plaque 1863 Patent
Here is a rare plaque from a James Tufts Arctic Soda Water Fountain, dating from the late 19th century. The patent date is June 30, 1863 referring to the soda fountain mechanism that Tufts invented. It is silver-plated metal and lead filled in the back.

Engraved with fancy "icy" ARCTIC lettering and beautiful Victorian fonts. Each soda fountain would have had two of these and when the fountains broke or were scrapped for marble dust (to make carbonic acid for more soda water), their plates were sometimes salvaged, like this survivor.

10 in diameter makes for a large and dramatic early soda fountain piece. CONDITION: old patina, with large rupture/puncture to metal near the center. The item "TUFTS Arctic Soda Water engraved silver plated soda fountain plaque 1863 Patent" is in sale since Thursday, June 25, 2020.

This item is in the category "Collectibles\Advertising\Soda\Fountain". The seller is "truthbeautypower" and is located in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania. This item can be shipped worldwide.
