Vintage Danish Silver Plate Frigast. This elegant set is in very good condition.
The pieces are in the pattern called Fleur designed by Henning Seidelin for Frigast, Denmark. He began his career as a sculptor but soon turned to industrial design. His work encompassed many mediums and products range from silverware, cutlery, homewares, lighting, furniture and ceramics. As with many Danish designers their skill ranges over many fields in their life time. Among others Henning designed for Georg Jensen, Hans Hansen, Frigast/Gense, Le Klint and Royal Copenhagen.The pattern was also available when Gense took over Frigast. This is an original Danish 1950's Frigast setting. Setting for 10 people plus extras. There are 13 dinner knives, 13 entree knives, 11 dinner forks, 13 entree forks, 11 soup spoons, 11 dessert spoons, a ladle, 2 different large serving spoons, large meat fork, 7 small meat forks and 2 cake forks. In total there are 85 pieces. The pieces have fine scratches from use. The large spoons in particular have the most scratches, please see the photos. There is no silver plate loss or wear through.
The silver plate is glossy and reflective. The stainless steel knife blades look as new.
The pieces will come wrapped in acid free tissue paper, padded with bubble wrap and packed in a box with void fill. Please note the set is heavy and weighs over 4kilos. For Imperial measurement users a handy guide is 25mm or 2.5cm is a little less than 1 inch, so 100mm or 10cm is just less than 4 inches.
