8 Vintage Danish Stelton Stainless Steel Platters Under Plates. This set of 8 platters or under plates is in very good condition.
The platters were designed by Peer Holmblad for Stelton in 1969 and were so popular they were in production until 2004. They were originally designed to be used underneath dinner plates or soup bowls and are similar to those produced by Georg Jensen. These are made from high quality 18/10 stainless steel and all were still within their original plastic sleeves. All the platters or plates have the original Stelton stickers to the backs.
The platters have a glossy finish to the outer band with a brushed satin finish to the centre. We don't think the pieces have been used but were stored for many years in a stack and as such have some minor storage scuffs and scratches. The pieces are marked 110-28.
They all measure 285mm across and are identical. The 8 platters weigh 3 kgs. A handy guide is 25mm or 2.5cm is a little less than 1 inch, so 100mm or 10cm is just less than 4 inches.
