Presented are a pair of Old Sheffield Plate wine coolers, made by George Smith, Tate, William Nicholson & Hoult c. Each wine cooler is of campana form with flower and leaf capped handles and a gadrooned rim. Each wine cooler has its original removable liner and collar.
The undersides and pedestal foot rims of both wine coolers are marked with the hand mark (struck 4 times in total) for George Smith, Tate, William Nicholson & Hoult c. Each large wine cooler measures 23 cm/9 inches tall and the distance across (diameter) is 21.5cm/ 8.5 inches. CONDITION : Lovely crisp gadrooning and leaf capped handles.The silver is all intact with minimal'bleeding' showing very little copper. The removable liner of one wine cooler has some dents to the edge that can easily be straightened. The wine coolers have a lovely aged patina. A GOOD CLEAN UNWORN PAIR OF OLD SHEFFIELD WINE COOLERS WITH ORIGINAL SILVER PLATING.
