A wooden and silver plate sports shield circa 1917. This item measures : height 2 feet (61 cm) Width 20 inches (50 cm). Actual plated shield 20 inches (39 cm). Inscription; Presented by Major J. Inter - platoon Musketery Competition.

The workmanship is of a very high quality. The chasing re the three soldiers with their guns is incredibly finely detailed. You can see the expressions on the soldiers faces. One of them has a moustache. The plating is in excellent condition with very little signs of wear.

The shield weighs about 6 kilos.
