Extremely Rare "The Garden Fountain". Daguerreotype 1/9 Silver Plate Case with 2 pictures of children inside. The case itself is in near mint condition with minimal marks on the inside.

One of the hinges on the case appears to have been repaired at some point. This case was the only case ever made that had the matching silver plate preservers on the inside. Behind the preservers, the case is lined with red velvet. This is a very heavy piece and was not made with a clasp. According to Paul Berg's Book on 19th Century Photographic Cases this is Rare--there are thought to be around 200 in existence.

Please see all of the pictures as they are part of the description of this piece. Measures 3" high by 2 1/2" wide when closed. Most of the items that I sell are antique or vintage as as such they do show signs of patina, use, and age.

That only adds to the character that so many collectors desire. If there are any major issues or defects, I try to describe them to the best of my ability and as accurately as possible.
