For fruit, flowers or cards. The Duchess of Sutherland Cripples' Guild. Was started in 1900 by Millicent, Duchess of Sutherland.
It actually began life as the Potteries Cripples' Guild before becoming the Duchess of Sutherland Cripples' Guild around 1907. The Guild was formed to take some definite action on behalf of the crippled children from the Staffordshire Potteries.
At this time many children worked in the Potteries, notorious for their unsafe working practices. Largely good condition with no heavy dings or dents. Signs of copper bleed and scratching to base, overall a highly presentable piece, minor aesthetic wear.
