Antique Hildesheimer Rose Flatware Set In Original Box

ANTIQUE HILDESHEIMER ROSE FLATWARE SET IN ORIGINAL BOX. 11/14/2011 Was just informed of the following: Thought you might like to know that this was a set from a design by Carl Hildesheimer of Germany.

Most of these sets are vintage sets. I don't think they are making them any longer. The area in which they were originally made was Hildesheim, Germany.

So I presume the man, Hildesheimer, was from that town and probably the town was named after his family. I have one of the dessert sets.

I will be looking into this information now that I have a name. Beautiful Set Consists of: 6 Forks & 6 Spoons. Two Gripping Tongs (for lack of a better name). Almost all of the pieces are Stamped 100. All pieces have an open Rose Pattern , except one Tong.

Tarnished and need to be polished. No scratches or knicks visble to the eye. One piece of fabric that is used as a decorative edging has come off. Measures approximately: 5.5 Forks. 3.5 Tong that matches set.

4.0 Tong that does not match set. 4.75 Small Serving Spoon. 5.75 Large Serving Spoon. Box is 12.75" wide x 2.0" tall x 10.60 deep. Thank you for your interest.
