This is an antique Ottoman bowl from the 18th century, crafted from copper with silver plate engraved with the year. Made in Turkey, this original piece weighs approximately 1.2kg. It is 18cm diameter 13cm high and is copper with what looks like silver plating. It has had some soldering repair in the rim. It is engraved with the date 1196 in the islamic calender which is 1782 in the Gegorian calender. The name of the craftsman is also engrave in arabic and translate as Hasan-kar, Agha Muhammad, son of Ali. It was purchas ed in Istanbul about 40 years ago. Some of the silver plating has worn off in a few places.
