Antique & Rare Silver Plate Jade/ Chrysoprase Hair Ornament
SILVER PLATED OVER COPPER - WEAR ON STICK PART, AND NOT SURE ABOUT THE CHAINS. CAME IN A ESTATE COLLECTION WITH OTHER QUALITY PIECES.
MOST LIKELY' Jade or Chrysoprase' (not tested). But, I have been looking into Chrysoprase, and thinking it might actually be this stone. I dare say, these are lovely and large stones, and could be reworked into a fabulous piece of modern jewellery. This gemstone is the most valuable and the rarest stone in the chalcedony quartz group. Chrysoprase is one of the few gemstones that is colored with nickel traces. Due to their rarity, chrysoprase stones tend to be quite valuable and expensive, even though these stones are not precious gemstones like diamonds. Several chrysoprase rings are available as designer jewellery items, and therefore they have immense value as heirlooms.
