This is a stunning pair of very rare large Georgian neoclassical or Roman style eagle shell salts, I think these are a later mid-Victorian casting, but of the highest quality. Add this lovely pair to your collection as well as enriching your dining experience. The beautifully cast salts each feature an exquisitely detailed feathered eagle with wings spread holding a shell salt in a chased rockery base.
Matched pair with slightly different wing positions. Dimensions: 11 cm tall, 12 cm wide, 10 cm deep. In inches: 6" x 5.5", x 4.5 approx. Condition: Excellent condition, no visible wear to silver.They came form an English estate, and had obviously been stored in the strongroom for some time. I have given them a gentle clean to bring out the highlights.
