Antique Victorian Coin Purse - Silver Plated Repousse Hinged Lid - Tatting Base with Cut Steel Beads. In good condition for its age, there is some loss of plating on the lid from daily use, and a couple of the steel cut beads at the base are missing. The soft maroon body was created using a technique called tatting. The only mark is "Pat March 90" which is for a patent in 1890, making this little purse over 120 years old. The repousse silver plated hinged lid measures 2 1/8 inches (53mm) in diameter.
The front button releases the lid, and works well. It opens and stays closed well. There isn't a maker mark. Weighs 1.6 ounces (46 grams). Thank you for your interest!
