Antique WMF German Silver Plated Blue Glass Art Nouveau Jugendstil Biscuit Jar
A stunning, sort after, antique art nouveau silver plated and cobalt blue glass biscuit caddy / barrel / storage jar. Made in German circa 1906 by WMF - Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik. No markings, but we are confident of our research. On inspection there are no major issues with this lot, no big dents, cracks, nibbles etc.
There is some marking to the base, some minor marking to the glass lining (virtually invisible). The finial and one foot are out of shape, but could be gently bent back into place. There is plate wear as shown in photos. Otherwise in good condition for age. Lovely classic design, lot looks very striking and beautiful quality.
Standing piece is approximately 19cm tall x 11.5cm wide (base). CLEANING ANTIQUES and VINTAGE items - please note, we do not vigorously clean antique porcelain and other delicate items. Enthusiastic cleaning can damage surfaces, dislodged glazes and paint and destroy desirable patina.
