Art Deco Danish silver plate Louise cutlery setting c1930 6 people. This beautiful setting is in very good condition. In Denmark there are several cutlery designs that were made by several manufacturers. This is one such pattern, called Louise, with fine beaded detail to the central hammered sections with traditional horizontal banding. Cutlery is rated highly in Denmark and often given as birthday presents so children can accumulate a set by the time they leave home. These pieces date from 1890 through to 1930 and are marked for both Corh Silver and the Copenhagen Silver company Amager. Trade marks for both these companies are ATLA and ABSA. Both these markings can be seen on the cutlery. As the set came to us without knives we have matched it with a set made in Sheffield which features imitation bone handles and stainless steel blades.

There are 6 stainless steel bladed knives, 6 dinner forks, 6 table spoons, 6 Continental soup spoons, 6 dessert spoons and 6 teaspoons. The silver plate to these pieces is in very good condition with minor scratches from use. There is no corrosion spots or wear through to the plating. The knife handles are all secure and well seated.

There are a few very small marks and scuffs from gentle usage. It is a beautiful and elegant set and will enhance any table setting for years to come. For Imperial measurement users a handy guide is 25mm or 2.5cm is a little less than 1 inch, so 100mm or 10cm is just less than 4 inches.
