A Glass and Silver plate punch bowl, made in the Art Nouveau/Jugendstil period, ca 1890, France. A clear glass bowl with flowal engravings, minor chips missing on the inside of the top rim. See the last two photo's.
Supported in an elaborate silver plate frame. Th base is decorated with grapes leafs and tranches. The silver plate parts and the lid are in excellent and undamaged condition.Jugenstil translates to "youth style"and was essentially Germany's version of the French Art Nouveau mouvement. Total weight is 3.3 kilo. Total is 18.50 inch(47 cm) high. The silverplate punch bowl holder is appr. 8.66 inch (22 cm) high(at the handles) and 6 inch(15 cm) high at the grapes. 12.5 inch(32 cm) wide and the bottom is 10.2X9.84 inch(26x25 cm). The lid is 7 inch(18 cm) high. The glass insert punch bowl is 10 inch(25 cm) high on the top rim 7 inch(18 cm) diameter and the bottom is 5 inch(13 cm) diameter. Each part will be wrapped seperatelly in air cushing material with extra anti shock material in a large box.
