This is a rare opportunity for the professional or collector. Had new pads several years ago but has not really been played since. The lacquer has generally faded leaving it with a beautiful patina befitting her age. These LeBlancs followed the Bohem theory of holes. They basically tried to limit the number of holes open. Also the post were silver soldered on the tube, which is stronger. To do this they made the tube thicker... Which they think made it sound better... Which is why Selmer came out with the Mark VI to compete with it. Charles Harris, 35 years playing saxophone, 25 years as a saxophone repair technician said this: Leblanc had a unique approach to the design of the saxophone.

If you can find a Leblanc System saxophone jump on it. From Dr Sax Woodwinds:The LeBlanc Systeme (Rationnel, Semi-Rationnel, Systeme, Model 120) key system has all the standard fingerings and can be played with the same fingerings as every other sax. But it additionally has some extra alternative fingerings. These can be a real help when playing particularly difficult passages, notably with the Classical repertoire.

Essentially, when playing any note on the stack, you can hit anything on the lower stack to drop it a half note. From A to G# (no LH pinky touch needed), from C# to C, from C to B.

Few LeBlanc Systeme saxophones were ever made. Comes with the original Vandoren, V F Abato, mouthpiece.
