Early 20thc Hukin & Heath Silver Plate & Cut Glass 2-bottle Mechanical Tantalus
An Unusual & Fine Quality Silver Plate and Cut Crystal Twin-Bottle Mechanical Tantalus, By Hukin & Heath, Early 20th Century. The two heavily-quilt-cut pineapple-shaped decanters held within a frame with central loop carrying handle, the spring-loaded mechanism locking to secure the decanters in place and unlocking to allow the upper section to be lifted and rotated, releasing them, the underside of the frame with marks for Hukin & Heath and stamped MADE IN ENGLAND/653/PATENT APPLIED FOR, the underside of the stoppers numbered 1 and 2, with original key. Condition: Overall, in excellent condition, with no visible damage or restoration.
Minor spotting and tarnish to the plated mounts, consistent with age and use.
