Early Victorian set of three cut glass cylinder decanters, silver plated stand

This is a set of three early Victorian, mouth-blown, cut glass cylinder spirit decanters dating from the middle of the 19th century, c1845. They come with their own silver plated decanter stand. The decanters are in excellent condition for their age. This means, of course, that they show age related wear and tear consistent with some 170 years of use. The decanters are cylinder-shaped with everted pouring rims.

The decanters were blown in clear glass. The necks are decorated with three neck rings and the shoulders with four prism cuts. The bodies are cut with wide bands of large diamonds with sunbursts above basal bands of wide flutes. The bases measure 7.7 cm (3.1 inches) in diameter and have polished out pontil pontil marks to the undersides. The decanters are 16.5 cm (6.6 inches) in height without the stoppers and 20 cm (8 inches) in height with the stoppers inserted. The stoppers are of hollow mushroom form and appear to be the originals. They are decorated with radial gilding to the tops, are of the same colour and shade, and are an excellent fit. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any evidence of restoration. Dimensions vary slightly from decanter to decanter as should be expected of mouth-blown glass. Each decanter weighs 665 g. It's hard to find three decanters of this age in good orders so a scarce set. The stand is in tarnished silver plate which needs a good clean.

It is intact and has some indecipherable markings to the underside.
