FINE ORIGINAL ART DECO'DIAL-a-DRINK' SILVER-PLATED COCKTAIL SHAKER
FINE ORIGINAL ART DECO'DIAL-a-DRINK' SILVER-PLATED. This is a fine quality, rare, and original Silver-Plated Art Deco recipe ('Tell Me How' /'Dial a Drink') Cocktail Shaker designed for, I'm told, Asprey or Mappin & Webb (both of which retailed these shakers - check below for the patent number). Depicted in a tapered cylindrical silver-plated form with domed lid over inner strainer and inner and outer components, it's operated by rotating the collar to line up an arrow with the engraved cocktail name which then flags the necessary ingredients viewed through the slots in the body, the rotating outer sleeve reveals the 15 recipes. Patented in Great Britain 398119' and'Other Patents' are stamped to the base.
I have chosen to include some photographs of the shaker in the condition I bought it (very, very, tarnished [almost black], I've had it professionally polished since) - see photograph and details. It measures 11" (18cm) H x 4" (10cm) Dia. Approx; and is in excellent condition with no defect at all to report, apart from a very small and shallow bruise to its base edge - again see photograph and details. This is a rare and unusual piece of period Art Deco barware in a very interesting and novel form that's in great condition and with a realistic, yet still low start price should get considerable interest from all collectors. I must apologise for the photographs, but because of the highly polished, almost mirror-like, surface has picked up multiple reflections which make it look a bit shabby, which in reality it is definitely not, it's almost mirror-like silver plate.

Almost everything I sell is in the condition I have bought it, unless otherwise stated, (I have learnt to my cost in the past not to tamper with an item), and therefore I have neither had items repaired nor restored.
