JONES / CONNELLS ARTS & CRAFTS. SILVER PLATED TRINKET / CIGARETTE BOX. This is a wonderful hand beaten Arts and Crafts silver plate on copper trinket / cigarette box made by A. In, I would guess, the very early 20th.
Depicted in hand planished (spot hammered) heavy guage. Copper with decorative rivets to its four legs and a relief centre roundel of entwined leaves encompassing a foliate button to the central dome.
Stamped'British Made SC 2492. To the metal edge of the base - see photographs and details. It measures 4 3/4 (12.5cm) L. X 2 1/2 (6.5cm) H approx; and is in very good condition with no defect at all to report apart from from some slight copper bleeding - again. This is a wonderful piece of period Arts and Crafts metalwork which is in good original condition made by a recognised master of the movement, and as such should get a lot of interest from all collectors. THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS SALE. Almost everything I sell is in the condition I have bought it, unless otherwise stated, (I have learnt to my cost in the past not to tamper with an item), and therefore I have neither had items repaired nor restored.
