There is a small split to the top flap where it has been well used. This item has been well looked after and the leather well fed and polished. The internal divider is sound with no movement or looseness. The silver plated sandwich tin is of heavy gauge with rounded corners and has a double hinge to allow it to open flat, both hinges are smooth and sound.
The silver plate is in excellent condition and is not worn at all, there is a small mark on the underside (at the hinge) which may polish off. Stamped with James Dixon trumpet mark. This is possible the best quality and condition sandwich tin I have ever handled. The flask is also in excellent condition, the glass is bright and clear, with no scratches or chips. The plated top is bayonet fitting with a corked lid, the mechanism works smoothly and cleanly. A really nice example of a side-by-side combination flask and sandwich tin, a great decorative or usable item.
