Neoclassical Silver Cape Tea Service by Martin Hall. Superb and unusual antique four piece Martin Hall neoclassical cape tea and coffee service, with engraved decoration. Cape refers to the large top lip on the teapot and coffee jug, based on ancient Greek style jugs and ewers, fashionable in the reign of King George III, around 1700. Includes: Teapot, coffee pot, sugar bowl, and milk jug.

(all full size) Handles insulated with bone spacers. I believe this all is a heavy premium quality silver plate that presents as sterling silver. Condition: Some very minor dings and scratches, no base metal showing.

The hallmark for the tea set has'MH & Co' in the middle. Also above the p is the #'s 9558 and below the G A 5. The hallmark has MH (over) Co inside a shield. Hallmark reference appears to be from 1854.
