Rare Art Nouveau French Metal Water Bottle. C. 1890 by Emile Dropsy (1848-1923)

Rare Art Nouveau French Metal Water Bottle. Heraldic Crest'N de D. This is a rare an interesting Art Nouveau silver plated water bottle made by Emile Dropsy c. Oval shaped with an ornate handle on the top and a screw fit stopper the can is decorated with Fleur-de-lis in a broad band around the body.

On one side of the container is a simple religious scene featuring two figures for which Emile Dropsy was well known. This recessed plaque is stamped with his name.

Sing side of the body is a French heraldic crest with a Crown over 2 Dolphins. Across the centre is' N de D'. Could the crest relate to the ancient province of Dauphin.

Which has dolphins and Fleur-de-lis in its Coat of Arms or the French Crown? Please have a look at all of the photographs. Height to top of Handle - approx. Shape- Oval 11.2 x 8.3 cm. 4.4 x 3.3 inch. Marks : To the religious plaque is stamped' E DROPSY'. As previously mentioned the crest probably of a family reads' N de D. A few light bumps to the body.
