Rare Pair Elkington Co Table lamps silver plate 1924 hallmark Art Nouveau

This rare pair of Elkington silver plate lamps came from an old hotel being recently renovated and found in the attic. The lamps have old fittings and would need to be rewired to meet todays saftey standards they each have the metal ring to secure a lamp shade. They could just be used for decoration with a new lampshade if you didn't want to rewire them. Both lamps are the same design which leans towards the end of the art nouveau period.

I have been unable to research any the same, they have the Elkington co hallmarks, and Elkington plate on the edge of the bases this dates them to 1924. These lamps are tarnished and probably untouched since the 50's when the hotel underwent a refurb and they were placed in the attic. I have made no attempt to clean them and they would probably look stunning if brought back to their original colour. The base on one lamp has green felt the other is uncovered and has some sort of black filler, maybe to add weight to the base.

The wire has been cut off as it is no longer useable the lamp holders have two prongs inside, one lamp has a side piece on the top the other one is missing this piece. The hotel is early Victorian and still retains many of its original features including stain glass windows, original chandeliers and a stunning plaster work ceiling, these lamps would have been a beautiful addition in this setting and would have looked amazing in the lobby area.
