Rare Victorian Ornate Silver Plated Table Lamp Base-hukin & Heath

A rare and very ornate, beautifully decorated silver plated table lamp base by Hukin and Heath who employed top drawer craftsmen and designers Dr. As you can see by the images the piece is outstanding in both departments.

Judging by the remnants of wax in the upper funnel it has been used as a candle lamp in the past but we have seen this same model successfully adapted to an electric table lamp conversion. The piece sports a stylish and decorative monogram to the cartouche to the shaft. It is in good structural condition.

There are small signs of usewear to the silver cover here and there but the overall appearance is gleaming. We have left the deeper patina in place in accordance to the preference of most collectors. Displays extremely well, a very collectable and super piece of Victorian silver plate. Maker's marks: please see image. Base diameter: 13.7cm/5.4.
