Gorgeous Bone China Stirrup Cup, in the form of an American Bald Eagle's head, produced by Royale Stratford, offered for sale with Certificate of Originality. The Stirrup Cup is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or crazing. Royale Stratford China was founded by John Hinks at St Mary's Mill, Longton (the Heart of The Potteries) in 1978. Name changed to Stratford Bone China Ltd in December 1978.

In 1996, following financial difficulties, receivers were appointed. In 2005, the business failed and John Hinks started Studio Hinks Fine Bone China. The stirrup cup collection is inspired by the unusual, rare and collectable drinking vessels of the Georgian Period.

Beautifully sculpted in English fine bone china and adorned with a silver plated brass bezel, it is entirely free hand painted and signed by the artist, the stirrup cup design remains faithful to its antique counterpart. Should a stirrup cup be filled with a suitable liquid, it cannot be put down until the contents have been drained! The Bald Eagle is a bird of prey found in North America.

It is found near large bodies of water, with an abundant food supply and old-growth trees for nesting. It subsists mainly on fish, which it snatches from the water with its talons. The stirrup cup, which measures 5.25/15cms wide, beautifully portrays the head of the eagle, sharp-eyed, with hooked beak, painted in a range of brown, grey and yellow colouring.
