Royale Stratford was a brand of fine bone china items created by Stratford Bone China Ltd. In Stoke-on-Trent, founded by John Hinks, which operated from 1976 to 2005. The stirrup cup collection is inspired by the unusual, rare and collectable drinking vessels of the Georgian Period. Beautifully sculpted in English fine bone china and adorned with a silver plated brass bezel, it is entirely free hand painted and signed by the artist, the stirrup cup design remains faithful to its antique counterpart.
Should a stirrup cup be filled with a suitable liquid, it cannot be put down until the contents have been drained! The beagle is a small breed of scent hound, developed primarily for hunting, known as beagling. The stirrup cup, measures 5/13cms wide, portrays the beagle ever-so alert and ready for the off! Beautifully painted in a range of brown and black colouring. Backstamp reads " ROYALE STRATFORD / STAFFORDSHIRE / HAND PAINTED VB (V Briggs)".
