Silver Titanium Cycling Trophy Presented to Bradley Wiggins Barnoldswick 2012
Historic presentation sculpture of importance to the town of Barnoldswick, Lancashire. The sculpture of a time-trial bicycle is constructed from titanium and made from a Rolls Royce fan blade in a modernist style and will have been a bespoke one-off piece to recognise the visit of world-famous cyclist Bradley Wiggins to the town in 2012.

The titanium bicycle is mounted upon a solid wooden base with black baize on the bottom. The bicycle sculpture is of a striking design with an inner wavy structure. The plaque attached to the wooden base is engraved. "Presented to Jet Powered Bradley Wiggins on his visit to Barnoldswick August 2012".

The bicycle itself bears the Olympic 5 Rings Logo and the Tour de France logo as well as "BRADLEY WIGGINS 2012". He advises me that the sculpture was made from a Rolls Royce fan blade on a wire cutting machine in the tool room at Rolls Royce, Barnoldswick.

Dimensions of wooden base: 260 mm x 170 mm x 27 mm. Sir Bradley Marc Wiggins, CBE: Bradley was born on 28th April 1980 and is a former road and track racing cyclist who competed professionally between 2001 and 2016.

Bradley won five Olympic gold medals and was the first British cyclist to win the Tour de France in 2012. Barnoldswick Visit: This was Bradley's fist public appearance since winning gold in the men's time trial at the 2012 Summer Olympics and was also shortly after he became the first British rider to win the Tour de France in 2012. He was therefore at the very peak of his career. 1,400 people took part in the rides on the 160km & 100km routes.

In addition, a crowd of 10,000 flocked to Victoria Park in Barnoldswick to see the great man. The sculpture will have been presented to Bradley to thank him for his visit. It would be great if this presentation trophy came into the possession of one of the 1,400 riders or even one of the 10,000 crowd who were there on the day. Summary: As can be seen from the photos this an historic item, personally presented to Sir Bradley Wiggins. Of great importance to the town of Barnoldswick.
