Victorian mahogany vanity box with silver plate topped bottles/jars

A Victorian mahogany vanity box with silver plate topped bottles/jars, fitted interior, secret drawer and letter compartment. The mahogany case is in very good condition with a great patina, and an inset mother of pearl cartouche to the top. Internally, there is an arrangement of bottles and containers, each with glass or silver plated lids.

The various pieces are in good condition (no chips), with only the usual signs of wear for an item of this age. The interior of the lid is lined with classic Victorian deep blue velvet behind which is a folder for personal correspondence or papers.

When lifted, a brass pin releases a sprung drawer to the side which is for jewellery items. This drawer is lined and padded in blue silk. 28cm x 20cm 17cm (H).
