Vintage Danish Silver Plate City Cutlery Set for 12 Copenhagen Spoon Factory

Vintage Danish ABSA Silver Plate City Cutlery Set for 12 people. This lovely set is silver plated and was made by the Copenhagen Spoon Factory under their ABSA silver plate trade mark. They and are marked with the Danish quality torch mark used after 1932. The pattern is called City.

The pieces have a pretty design with a foliar motif to the finial, mid section and neck. The pattern appears on the back as well.

There are 12 dinner knives with hollow handles (220mm), 12 European soup spoons or table spoons (195mm), 12 dessert spoons (178mm), 12 dinner forks (195mm) and 11 teaspoons (120mm). We can add in another similar teaspoon. The stainless steel knife blades are marked Raadvad Denmark.

In addition there are some serving pieces which consist of a large serving spoon, a crown seal bottle opener, a jam spoon and 2 small meat forks. There are a few fine scratches from use and the plating is bright and shiny.

They have well looked after and show no plating wear or spotting. This is a very elegant setting. For Imperial measurement users a handy guide is 25mm or 2.5cm is a little less than 1 inch, so 100mm or 10cm is just less than 4 inches.
