Loved by some of the most iconic stars of the 20th Century - from Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor, Jackie Kennedy and Wallis Simpson, to his most famous muse Audrey Hepburn - Givenchy's name and legacy have been synonymous with Parisian chic for more than 50 years. Givenchy, now in his Eighties, is almost entirely absent from the fashion spotlight, only emerging to comment on momentous fashion occasions like the royal wedding. Hubert de Givenchy knew he wanted to make women beautiful from the ripe age of 17. He was born in France, home of the infamous fashion capital Paris, and at 25 he opened his first boutique stocked full of clothing and high end fashion jewellery. His creations were so popular that high end fashion boutiques from all over the world, carried his creations.

He was known for using beautiful rhinestones, polished glass, various silver & gold plated metals, and faux pearls to make his pieces stand out. Givenchy also signed his pieces with a stamp and a logo on the clasps of the metal pieces, showing that it was one of his genuine creations.
