An early 20th century Indian silver plated over copper small round box and lid. The lid has a pronounced knop for opening and the decoration is of trees and bushes.
The main body has pastoral scenes with characters, huts and trees. Along with the repousse decoration there is stipple work to add extra detail. This is of course all hand done and items like this were made a small silversmiths and workshops around India during the colonial period. There are no marks which is usual for these items.
