Wedgwood produced a couple different patterns commemorating historical events or anniversaries. One such example is the plate produced in 1977 commemorating the Royal Silver Jubilee of H. This design was created in a limited edition of 750 examples, this particular plate is number 707. It displays the bust of the Queen in the center, circled by drapes of white garland embellished with several different colored bas-relief designs. Around the rim a band of single flower stems enclosed in an arch finishes off a masterful work of art.
The plate measures 8 3/4 across. I can find absolutely no chips, cracks, damage or repairs. I do not see any missing bas-relief in the pattern.
A wonderful and rare example culminating the long, rich history of Wedgwood. A must-have for any fine collection of Wedgwood Jasperware.
