WMF Art Nouveau Jugendstil Silver Plated Pair of Butter Coolers & Rotating Cover

Very Rare Large Pair of Antique WMF, Art Nouveau Jugendstil Silver Plated Butter / Caviar Coolers with Revolving Dome Lids. Here we have a very rare pair of Large Art Nouveau Jugendstil WMF Butter coolers with revolving dome lids, typically decorated with Jugendstil design.

The idea being to place a little crushed ice on the bottom of the dome stand, place the crystal bowl on top which is filled with butter, Caviar or even fresh berries, in todays world anything that needs chilling. They look wonderful displayed and would be a great addition to any table setting. The condition is very good, the lids swings open and closes with no issues whatsoever, No dents or dints, there is a small amount of silver loss on one more than the other and a slight rubbing on one lid, but nothing whatsoever to detract from the beauty and style of this pair of butter coolers. Very unusual to have such a large butter cooler and to have a matching pair is even more rare.

Both pieces are marked on one of the legs, very small but there. Height with Dome Lid : 15cm.

Height with Dome lid retracted : 7.4cm. Diameter of round insert : 10.5cm.

Depth of Insert base only : 6cm. Weight individually : 360 Grams Each. Weight the pair without Crystal Bowls : 720 Grams. Total weight for stands and crystal : 1166 Grams. No Dents or dints , heavy scratches or breakages.

Revolving lid works perfectly, no buckles and seals perfectly. Little silver loss on one more than the other and a little silver rubbing on one of the domes, but absolutely nothing that detracts from this pairs beauty. They stand true and straight , no wobbles whatsoever. The crystal Inserts are immaculate and top quality, to be very honest Im not sure if they are the original crystal inserts that came with the butter coolers, in my opinion I do not believe so, however the condition is amazing and they fit perfectly, I never normally get them with the inserts. These Butter coolers are at least 110 years old, the condition is very good.
