WMF Art Nouveau Pewter'Biscuit Box' with Silver Plated Lid

WMF Art Nouveau Pewter'Biscuit Box' with Silver Plated Lid. A pewter biscuit box with the original engraved crystal glass liner and silver plated (over brass) lid. A strong Jugendstil design with winged handles, which is an iconic WMF design, produced circa 1906.

The pewter base of the biscuit box is marked with WMF square mark with image of running Ostrich. The box measures 21cm tall (including lid handle) x 15cm wide (including side handles) x 9.5cm deep and weighs 1.080kg. This item is in good condition for the age however there is some wear commensurate with age and use.

There is some rubbing to the silver plated lid so the brass is coming through in places, and there are a few marks so the inside of the glass. These are all shown in the photos but should you require further photos we will be happy to provide more - just ask! A gorgeous piece of WMF Art Nouveau from around 115 years ago, which has stood the test of time and is still looking fabulous.

A very decorative object to enhance any decor. The item will be well packaged, with bubble-wrap and/or recycled packaging on dispatch.
