WMF Beautiful Jugendstil Pre- Art Nouveau Silver Plated Cake Lifter/ slice c1886

Beautiful WMF Jugendstil Pre Silver Plated Cake Lifter / Slicer. Signed WMF(first marking of WMF). Vacant Cartouche, no monograms or initials. Here we have a Beautiful very rare & early WMF Jugendstil silver plated Cake Lifter / slice, part of the butterfly series, each piece has a hidden butterfly, this has the butterfly on the point of the lifter. The workmanship on the piece is magnificent, a very special edition in true old WMF style.

Very little silver loss especially considering the age, to appreciate this pieces beauty, please checkout the photos, they can explain better than me. The WMF mark is stamped on the scalloped face side of the lifter plate by the handle shank, this old stamp mark is where the M&F of WMF are adjoined, which was introduced in 1886 and soon after had a further letter added. Very Little silver loss, no dents or dints the metal work is straight, without any buckling or miss shapes? Has some fine usage marks which is to be expected, however very fine marks and defiantly does not effect this pieces beauty in anyway.

WMF Marks are stamped as explained above. This piece of WMF is a genuine antique of 136 years of age.

Displays beautifully, very elegant and stylish quality! Length of lifter : 27 cm. Length of lifer without handle : 15 cm. Width at widest Point : 8.0 cm. Weight in total : 126 Grams.
