Magnificent High Quality Antique WMF Silver Plated Oval Neoclassical Charger In Full Relief. Here we have a Magnificent High quality WMF Silver Plated Neoclassical Large Oval charger Silver Plated on copper Charger.

This exceptional piece is modeled in full relief with horse legs and Roman centurions arms fully detached from the surface of the charger. In true Neoclassical style the charger is elaborately covered in what appears to be a hunting scene with Roman soldiers with chariots and on horse back are engaged in hunting and slaying wild animals.

The outer rim of the charger is finished in deep relief scrolling which is also in magnificent detail and craftsmanship. The reverse rim of the charger has an integral hanger and is well stamped with the manufactures details as mentioned above, very early WMF mark. The display side of the charger is clean and bright with an excellent gleam. This piece has no breakages or damage, its in unbelievable structural and cosmetic condition.

There are some minor areas of silver loss on the high / proud points of the relief work. The Chargers reverse side has not be cleaned in anyway. There are some areas of surface deposits on rebated areas which would polish up, however this also gives the piece a wonderful patina that took 150 years to produce, also it looks beautiful as it is.

A stunning magnificent Neoclassical silver plated charger from one of the worlds leading metal makers WMF thats displays beautifully and so very rare!
