WMF Rare & Beautiful Pair of Secessionist Silver Plated Twin Stemmed Candelabra
Art Nouveau Secessionist Silver Plated Twin Stemmed Candelabra Dated 1903 to1907. Here we have a stylish and beautiful pair of candelabras, Very high quality and evocative of the Art Nouveau Secessionist period. Stunning bright Silver plate which shows amazing style and workmanship, they have removable sconces as should all quality candelabras, these are a wonderful example of early German Art Nouveau. Secessionist metal work made by W. (Wurttemberg Metalwork Factory -Goppingen) that dates firmly at the beginning of the 20th century, it has the running ostrich mark and the letter G underneath and also the letter B which stands for Britannia Silver, OX which is the mark for oxidised silver its also halmarked with 1/0 thickness of silver plate.
I had difficulty taking the photos of these candelabras due to there shine, literally like taking a photo of a mirror, which resulted in reflections and distorted images. However they are in wonderful condition and to find a pair in this order is a rarity. Longest , widest and Highest Points.
Base : 10cm x 7.5cm. F are original and free from any repairs, breakages, dents, dints or heavy scratches, they have a few very minor rubbings which will easily polish out, the silver plate on the candelabras has no or little loss with the exception of one pair of the screw sconces that does have a little silver loss on the top of pots (but very minimal) the threads of the sconces are straight, strong and with an excellent thread.
Both candelabras 115 year old. Please study the photos as they are an important part of the description and will reflect this beautiful Candelabras better than I can describe.
