Wmf Silver Plated Candlestick Art Nouveau, Oasis. Hallmarked Genuine1895 -1900

Here we have an amazing silver plated candle stick form WMF, its an oasis theme, Deer, Palm tree, huge palm leaf, foliage and even a snake that is slithering up a tree. The piece is of a very high quality and wonderful craftsmanship, as you you would expect from one of the worlds best metal ware company WMF. The detailing in this piece is amazing, even the snake has a scaled skin , every palm leaf has veins and and textured.

Palm tree is a work of art , there so much intricate details the artist has put into this piece. The piece is fully hallmarked and carries the very old style WMF logo and SP which means Silver plated, how ever I believe this piece is nickel plated on bronze? Although it doesnt indicate on the piece, It also has a removable sconce which is a simple thread unwind, the sconce takes a 1 3/4 inch candle. There is very little silver loss, a little of the deers rump and maybe a little on the high spots of palm leaf, although it maybe suppose to be like this as it acts as a highlight? The Palm leaf is firm and in the correct order, securely fixed, very stable and strong, every leaf shown amazing details, Deer is securely fixed to the base, nothing loose its very secure , true and strong and looks great, Palm tree is true and very strongly mounted on the base (base fitting) even the snake is perfect and coiled perfectly around the tree, no breakages whatsoever, you can move the snake as its not welded or secured to the palm tree its simple coiled around the palm tree, its how its suppose to be.

The base is true and straight, 3 raised feet are in perfect balance and sits perfectly. Please checkout the photos as they are an important part of the description and will reflect the quality, condition and style of this beautiful WMF candlestick much better than I can describe. All in all this is a stunning piece of classical art nouveau by WMF, its a genuine antique and considering its over a 120 years its in excellent condition.
